079, 'Engineering the World' exhibition for V&A
Menu

The exhibition is the first major retrospective on the life and work of Ove Arup, the most influential engineer of the 20th Century. ‘Engineering the World’ gives the visitor unprecedented insight into how Ove’s philosophy of ‘Total Design’ helped make possible some of the world’s most iconic buildings.

Set in the Porter Gallery, V&A’s testing ground for exhibition design, we have created an immersive installation inspired by Arup’s archive images of engineering laboratories.

“The new V&A show on the work of legendary engineer Ove Arup may appear fairly modest at first glance, occupying a single room at the Porter Gallery – yet spanning two levels in a clever design by Dyvik Kahlen Architects, it really packs a punch.” – Ellie Stathaki, Wallpaper Magazine
