‘New Nordic. Cuisine, Aesthetics and Place’, on display at the National Museum in Oslo, reflects on the New nordic food movement and its aesthetic universe. It consists of an indoor exhibition and an outdoor garden and pavilion.
Inside the exhibition the shelf becomes an archive, a neutral frame, where materials, objects, tools and works of art are displayed as equal. The pavilion hosts a range of programmes, including workshops, test kitchens, performances and displays. Much like a New Nordic dish, the pavilion is a composition of three recognisable Nordic elements: a coastal landscape on the roof, a wooden structure and a forest terrain with an earth cellar.
